Great Western Ambulance
The area that Great Western Ambulance Service cover has now increased following the recent amalgamations, they now also cover Gloucestershire and Avon areas.
Avon AS has been customers of Terrafix since 1999, with the initial Mobile Data and AVL system utilising RAM communications. Initially in the Avon vehicles there was a robust data keypad that provided full two-way messaging and status capability.
Over the years Great Western AS and Terrafix have worked closely together to enhance and more forward their system. They now utilise the GRPS network for all their primary communications with the Airwave system as backup. Both the Gloucestershire and Wiltshire vehicles have the TMC 1450 terminal, providing them with the full colour touch screen technology that can now be found in the Avon vehicles with the installation of the TVC 3000.
