In Spring 2004, Lincolnshire Ambulance Service implemented a Terrafix Mobile Data and Automatic Vehicle Location System.
The trusts 75 emergency vehicles were fitted with the Terrafix Intelligent Interface Unit (TIU) and Mobile Computer, TMC 450, which facilitated the dispatch, satellite navigation and status functions with touch screen technology and next generation software applications.
Officers cars and RRV’s have been equipped with the Terrafix Satellite Data Interface solution, providing two-way status with full voice and satellite guidance/navigation.
The installation of the Terrafix system enabled the Trust to respond to Emergency Calls more swiftly and to deal with life threatening situations more effectively.
