Ambulance services
Terrafix systems are predominant
in the pre-hospital emergency care sector. Currently 14 ambulance
trusts use them. They are:
The first ambulance trust to invest in a Terrafix
system was West Midlands in 1992. They receive an emergency call every 90 seconds,
and using the Terrafix AVL and Mobile Data system, have reduced their response times by a
full minute.
In 2002 Terrafix provided Scottish
Ambulance with the first ever GPRS Automatic Vehicle Location
System. This the largest ambulance service in the world using the
latest in communication technology to provide a full vehicle tracking
solution.
Royal Berkshire, Lincolnshire
and Wiltshire Ambulance now use the Terrafix 1450 ruggedised
Mobile Computer to provide crews with in-vehicle mapping including
audible & visual route guidance, intelligent statusing and two-way
text messaging.

provides more effective policing and public safety.
The Terrafix system appeals to other security based
